Hugh Vanstone

Lighting Designer

Hugh has designed the lighting for more than 200 productions, and has worked for most of the UK’s national theatre companies and extensively on Broadway. He has received many awards for his work including three Olivier Awards, a Tony Award and a Molière. He is an associate artist at the Old Vic, where he has recently lit A Christmas Carol, No’s Knife and Groundhog Day. Credits elsewhere include The Height of the Storm, The Birthday Party, Venus In Fur, Dreamgirls and Matilda (West End), Exit the King and The Red Lion (National), Art and Shrek (UK tours), and Hillary and Clinton and The Boys in the Band (Broadway).
