Charlie’s love of all things musical was first recognized in pre-school where he loved to dress up, dance, play musical instruments and sing. In 2016, Charlie took on the persona of Mrs.Trunchbull from ‘Matilda’ during his school book week parade and was encouraged to enrol in drama lessons. Since then, Charlie has been attending drama and musical theatre classes at Hunter Drama (HD) and High Street Productions (HSP), tap dancing and acrobatics with Renae Perry and Damian Moore and singing lessons with Maddie Watts – all in Newcastle, Australia. He is currently enrolled with Manchester Musical Youth. Charlie has performed in HD’s productions of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Peter Pan’. His first lead role (Jo Jo) was in HSP’s 2020 production of Seussical Kids. Charlie is very thankful and grateful to his musical theatre tutors who have equipped him to be able to play the role of Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, his first West End production.
