Alex Aitken

Children’s Musical Director

Alex was an Organ Scholar at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, and combines his role on Mary Poppins with being a Musical Director with the National Youth Music Theatre and the Assistant MD at MK Chorale. He also regularly works with the National Children’s Choir and the CBSO Youth Chorus.

Recent Musical Director credits include Prodigy and Beauty and the Beast (Stowe Arts), Sunday in the Park with George (NYMT, The Other Palace), Brass (NYMT, Hackney Empire), and various Cambridge Footlights productions. As Assistant or Associate Musical Director: Sweet Charity (NYMT, Leicester Curve), Jerry Springer the Opera (ADC Cambridge).

As a pianist: Sunset Boulevard (Curve, Leicester), Annie (UK Tour), Kiss Me Kate (Crucible, Sheffield) and Guys and Dolls (Royal Albert Hall and Théâtre Marigny, Paris).
